To move forward in a new and exciting way, Onda is catching a ride on the tenth wave - "onda" in Spanish - into our tenth year on Alberta Street. We're bringing back twelve artists who have in their own way helped define the style of art at the gallery, art which comes from Latin America or is inspired by Latin America. [See examples on the Wall Art page]
- Marcio Melo, Brazilian artist whose color and style have delighted collectors in two solo shows; • Rita Urdaneta, Venezuelan artist living in Portland who brings glowing surfaces to her canvases;
- Alejandro Ceballos, Mexican artist and graphic designer, with bold symbolic paintings;
- Marianela de la Hoz, visionary Mexican artist, painting surreal miniatures in egg tempera;
- Mauricio Robalino, Ecuadorian artist, producing strong public and private art in the Puget Sound area;
- Susan Trueblood Stuart, from Salem whose travels to Peru and Mexico have inspired extraordinary landscapes;
- Guillermo Martinez Garrido, now deceased Mexican artist whose artistic reputation grows with each showing of work;
- Mauricio Arcesio, Colombian artist living in Portland, who paints the power of love and romance;
- Mabel Astarloa Haley, acclaimed Argentine costume and set designer living in Portland, with new work;
- Pepe Moscoso, the one photographer in the group who captures people and moments in unique ways;
- Cristina Acosta, from Bend, one of the most admired artists ever shown at the gallery;
- Hampton Rodriguez, an innovative painter, animation artist and muralist, originally from the Dominican Republic.
