Overview
11' x 14' Acrylic on Canvas Board - Sunning is an example of a painting that I did from a sketch. I sometimes draw at Hipbone Studios in Portland. I like to go when they have a costumed model. It makes me think of narratives for the model. In this case, she wore a “Victorian” dress and carried a parasol. I started thinking of the warmth of the sun; maybe she was a woman looking out at the Tuscan hills that I paint so often in my mural work.
